About the Role

This is a hybrid role combining strategic account management (60%) and team / operations management (40%) .

  • As an Account Lead , you'll manage a portfolio of 8-15 clients , overseeing strategy, ensuring results, and coordinating the work of specialists and contractors.
  • As an Operations Director , you'll drive efficiency, optimize workflows, oversee employee workloads, and manage a network of contractors and AI-driven processes to deliver high-quality work effectively.
  • This role reports directly to the COO (Julien) and has three direct reports (internal employees) while also managing a network of contractors .

    A Day In The Life

    Client Strategy & Account Management (60%)

  • Own and lead the strategy for a portfolio of 8-15 clients , ensuring performance metrics (ROAS, lead generation, etc.) are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering long-term relationships and trust.
  • Collaborate with specialists and contractors to execute digital marketing strategies (SEO, PPC, content, automation, and paid media).
  • Monitor and optimize performance, ensuring all work is delivered on time and meets quality standards .
  • Identify new opportunities to improve client results and propose strategic recommendations.
  • Operations & Team Leadership (40%)

  • Manage three direct employees as well as contractors , ensuring they have clear workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Lead performance reviews and career development planning in collaboration with HR and the COO.
  • Oversee the contractor network , ensuring effective hiring, onboarding, and performance monitoring .
  • Manage contractor budgets and ensure resource allocation aligns with agency needs.
  • Optimize operations by implementing workflow automation, AI-driven efficiencies, and process improvements .
  • Drive labour efficiency by improving time management and resource utilization.
  • Key Goals & Accountabilities

    Client Success :

  • Meet or exceed client KPIs (e.g., ROAS, leads generated, traffic growth).
  • Ensure efficient time management of client accounts.
  • Team Management & Efficiency :

  • Maintain a high Labour Efficiency Ratio (optimal work allocation per team member).
  • Ensure the team meets deadlines and delivers high-quality work.
  • Contractor Performance :

  • Evaluate contractor effectiveness based on the quality of deliverables and value created .
  • Maintain an optimized contractor network , balancing cost, efficiency, and quality.
  • What We're Looking For

    Must-Have Qualifications :

  • 5+ years in digital marketing with experience across SEO, PPC, and paid social .
  • 3+ years in a leadership / management role , leading teams and overseeing performance.
  • Strong strategic thinking , and understanding when and how different marketing channels should be applied.
  • A strong background in performance marketing
  • Experience with ClickUp, automation tools, and AI-driven marketing technologies .
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and align internal employees and external contractors toward a common goal.
  • Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong analytical skills to measure client performance and operational efficiencies .
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a passion for efficiency and innovation .
  • Nice-to-Have Qualifications :

  • Experience in managing contractor networks or remote teams.
  • Working knowledge of on-page / landing page conversion rate optimization (CRO) .
