Position : Teacher (50%) / Career Development Coordinator (50%) Location : Engaged Learners Program – Cranberry Portage, MBStart Date : September 3, 2024FTE : 1.00 FTE Term of Employment : PermanentApplication Deadline : Open Until Filled The Division provides a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, transportation and moving expense reimbursement, subsidized housing or housing allowance and isolation allowance in qualifying communities, annual travel reimbursement, reimbursement for approved courses and more! The “Engaged Learners Program” offered by the Career Studies Department works with students who are presently not attending school by providing orientation and training that will encourage them to return to school or to employment. The students are in the program for 2-3 weeks at a time and then return home for 1-2 weeks on a continual basis throughout the school year. Arrangements for room and board for the successful candidate(s) may be possible. Qualifications : Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Arts degree (preferred) Valid Manitoba driver’s license Workforce Development background Community Development background Experience and design of educational programs related to Career Development Experience working with students and apprentices in Trade related fields Demonstrated experience with establishing industry relationships in order to connect students and recent graduates with potential employers Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, Access and Microsoft Project Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to coordinate and prioritize in an environment where there are multiple stakeholders Duties : Develop a Career Development Plan for the Consortium to be implemented during the 2024-2025 school year Identify trade and industry partners to engage in school / community presentations Performs administration functions directly related to carrying out the Consortium Plan and work with industry partners to ensure program implementation.
