Le Centre de santé Tulattavik de L’Ungava est situé à Kuujjuaq. Il dispense l’ensemble des services de santé et services sociaux dans la partie est du Nunavik. Il dessert sept communautés Inuites avec autant de CLSC, un centre pour personnes âgées et un centre hospitalier à Kuujjuaq. Il emploie environ 1,000 employés : administrateurs, professionnels, médecins, dentistes, psychologues, infirmiers, travailleurs sociaux, personnel de soutien, employés occasionnels, etc.

Les communautés du Nunavik sont situées au nord du 55e parallèle où prévaut un climat subarctique. Il entraîne l’existence d’un pergélisol et ne permet aucune agriculture. Le Nunavik est la plus grande région couvrant environ le tiers de la superficie globale du Québec. Aucune liaison routière n’existe entre les communautés du Nunavik et le Québec méridional, ni entre les communautés du Nunavik elles-mêmes. On a accès à cette région et à ses communautés que par avion et par bateau.

Responsibilities

Technologiste médicale

Sous l’autorité de l'adjointe au directeur DI-DSH des services hospitaliers, le rôle du technologiste au CSTU Kuujjuaq est de faire les analyses en mode <

dans les domaines suivants : biochimie, hématologie, banque de sang et microbiologie. Nous avons aussi un secteur de biologie moléculaire. Les quarts de travail jour, soir et fin de semaine sont sur rotation ainsi que le service de garde. Les technologistes doivent contrôler la qualité et l’exactitude des analyses faites pour aider le médecin à préciser son diagnostic et donner un traitement adéquat. Ce cadre de travail en région nordique desservant une population inuite est une opportunité pour vivre une aventure personnelle et professionnelle unique.

Qualifications

Diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) en techniques de laboratoire médical

Membre en règle de l’O.P.T.M.Q.

Expérience de 3 ans en laboratoire médical serait un atout

Polyvalence dans les différents secteurs tels que microbiologie, hématologie, banque de sang et biochimie;

La connaissance de la biologie moléculaire serait un atout

Maîtrise du français. (parlé et écrit) Anglais de base serait un atout

SALAIRE : Min : 867.30$ Max : 1 248.45$ / 35 heures

PRIME D’ÉLOIGNEMENT  : 203.66$ / semaine

PRIME VIE CHÈRE : 74.17$ / semaine

The Ungava Tulattavik Health Center is located in Kuujjuaq and offers the whole health and social services in the eastern part of Nunavik. Serving seven Inuit communities with an equal number of CLSC, a center for the elderly and the hospital in Kuujjuaq, it employs approximately 1,000 employees : administrators, professionals, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, support staff, etc.

Nunavik communities are located north of the 55th parallel where a subarctic climate prevails. It implies the existence of permafrost allowing no agriculture. Nunavik is the largest region covering about a third of the total area of Quebec. No road link exists between the communities of Nunavik and southern Quebec, and between Nunavik communities themselves. We have access to the region and its communities by air travel and by boat.

Medical Technologist

Responsabilities

Under the authority of the assistant to the director, the role of the technologist at UTHC in Kuujjuaq is to perform analyses in <

mode in the following fields : biochemistry, hematology, blood bank and microbiology. We also have a molecular biology sector. The day, evening and weekend shifts are on rotation as well as the on-call service. Technologists are responsible for controlling the quality and accuracy of the tests performed to help the physician clarify the diagnosis and provide appropriate treatment. Participates to the training and supervision of Medical Technology students, if needed. Ensures emergency on-call duty, on a rotation basis.This northern setting deserving an Inuit population is an opportunity to experience a unique personal and professional adventure.

Requirements

College diploma (DEC) in Laboratory techniques;

Active member of the O.P.T.M.Q.;

Three (3) years of experience in as Medical Technologist would be an asset;

Versatility in different fields such as microbiology, hematology, blood bank and biochemistry;

Knowledge of molecular biology would be an asset;

Fluent in French (spoken and written) basic English knowledge would be an asset;

Initiative and autonomy;

Ability to work within a team.

SALARY : Min : 867.30$ Max : 1248.45$ / 35 hours

Any person recruited in Quebec more than 50 kilometers from the locality in which she is called upon to perform her duties, will be granted annual trips and lodging unit as per her family status. (Transit or shared lodging if necessary).
