Reporting to the Area Superintendent, the School Psychologist works collaboratively with the Student Services Team, school personnel, parents and other clinical disciplines to provide a comprehensive range of psychological services to Nursery to Grade 12 students including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, consultation and recommendations. QUALIFICATIONS Master’s Degree in School Psychology with appropriate supervised clinical experience Valid Manitoba School Psychologist Certificate (or eligibility for) Successful completion of formal training in psycho-educational assessments Strong written and verbal communication skills, effective organizational and computer skills; and the ability to meet multiple deadlines Strong clinical skills and a broad knowledge base in child and adolescent development, cognitive processes, mental health, school and community systems, learning, and behaviour disorders Experience working with students who have a broad range of exceptional needs. Experience working with Indigenous communities and using culturally affirming approaches preferred Training in Threat Assessment / Trauma Informed Care would be an asset Valid Manitoba Driver’s license and ability to travel. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The successful candidate will provide a broad range of school based psychological services including but not limited to : Conducts and interprets psychoeducational assessments of students related to learning, social, emotional and or behavioural difficulties Works collaboratively with school staff and parents to identify and develop support for student needs Participates in Student Support team meetings to provide recommendations related to learning strategies, interventions and / or specialized programming Prepares and submits written reports in accordance with division timelines Liaises with outside agencies to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive approach to student planning and intervention Forwards referrals to outside agencies in consultation with school personnel and / or the Student Services team Works with the Student Services Team to facilitate professional learning for school staff and parents Provides support with Threat Assessment, Crisis Response, and / or Tragic Events, as needed Maintains confidentiality in accordance with professional guidelines. Adheres to Frontier School Division policies.
