JombonePenticton, British ColumbiaThe Role : As an RN in Long-Term Care (LTC), you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care to residents, managing both medical and personal needs to ensure their comfort and well-being in a supportive, long-term care environment.
Responsibilities :
Observe, report and record physical and psychological observations / changes in patient condition. Assist with / provide personal hygiene to clients / patients / residents.
Provide interventional and therapeutic treatments, where required (e.g., wound care, nasogastric catheters, traction, non-stress testing, fetal monitoring, dialysis).
Administer and record medications (e.g., oral, subcutaneous, pulmonary, rectal, intramuscular).
Initiate, administer and maintain intravenous therapy (e.g., flow rate, site integrity).
Provide respiratory and airway care (e.g., tracheostomy, suctioning, oxygen therapy, chest percussion, ventilator).
Monitor blood glucose and takes appropriate action.
Provide care and maintenance of Central Lines, Peripherally Inserted Central, Catheter (PICC) lines and portacaths (e.g., give blood and blood products), where required.
Monitors, interprets and records vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, oxygen saturations, attaches cardiac monitors and telemetry devices).
Ensure proper nutrition and hydration (e.g., assist / feed, nasogastric, and gastrostomy).
Requirements :
Current, unrestricted RN license in your current province.
Bachelor of Science / Diploma in Nursing (RN).
ACLS, BLS, PALS, and CTAS certification.
At least, 2-years recent full-time bedside experience.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a collaborative care environment as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound clinical judgment.
