Data Specialist III Contract 12 months+Hybrid 3 days onsite (60% onsite), Montreal, QCThe position at a glanceThe Data Office Department drives and continuously improves the way data is handled throughout the organization. It looks to satisfy the requirements related to principles for effective enterprise data aggregation and reporting and is intended to support evolving regulatory requirements.The Data Office Department is made up of the following : Data GovernanceMetadata & LineageData QualityData SolutionsData Privacy and protectionIn detailThe role will report to the Head of the Metadata and Lineage Team. The role will be supporting data management and / or data quality activities.The analyst will drive and contribute to the team implementation of the data office framework ensuring its execution and maintenance, as well as working in close collaboration with business partners, technology, and other stakeholders. The activities and responsibilities of the analyst may be performed in a project or BAU mode : Data Management & Quality Implement and maintain data management and data quality processes, ensuring data standards and procedures are adhered to across the organization.Oversee monitoring, assessment, and reporting on data quality issues. This includes identifying data inconsistencies, inaccuracies, and anomalies.Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure data validation rules are enforced, and that data is accurate and complete before it is used for reporting or decision-making.Develop and maintain data quality dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.Work with various teams such as IT, Business Analysts, and Data Owners to address data quality issues and improve data management practices.Ensure metadata and data lineage to understand the flow of data through the organization, including its origin, transformations, and usage is periodically reviewed and updatedSupport data integration initiatives by ensuring that incoming data from different systems adheres to quality standards and is properly aligned with existing data.Contribute to identify data-related risks and provide training to domains in the organization.Participate in ongoing improvements of data management practices, suggesting and implementing process optimizations and automation when possible.The strengths and skills that will help you succeed TRAINING AND OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree from accredited university5 plus years of professional experience ideally in data managementPreferred experience in data management, governance, privacy, or process improvement.Experience preparing senior management presentations and manipulate large data setsElevated level of ability in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI a plusExperience with Data Governance and Management tools such as Collibra, AbInitio, a plusSKILLS AND BEHAVIOURSAnalytical and problem solving, with a keen sense for processes, analysis, and documentationRigorous, pro-active, self-disciplined, self-motivatedAble to manage changing priorities and meet high quality standards in a fast-paced environmentCreative thinker and problem solver with an eye toward leveraging data and technology to create more efficient business processes, and automate and integrate critical workflow processes and controlsGiven the vast majority of our clients, both internal and external, are based outside of Quebec and Canada, specific language requirements may apply.Knowledge of French and English is required.
