Description
Are you that rare person who excels at managing the hearts and minds of a team while also being versed in semiconductor technologies? Do you thrive on building high-performance teams as well as delivering high quality semiconductor components? Do you move seamlessly from operations strategy discussions to coaching team leads to identifying potential risks in a development schedule? Are you comfortable pivoting when needed? Do you enjoy working at the nexus of people and cutting-edge technology? If you answered yes to these questions (or most of them), we’re looking for you to join us at Photonic!
The Test and Assembly Engineering team is an integral part of the Research & Development Operations group at Photonic. It is focused on building scalable, fault-tolerant quantum computers based on photonically-linked silicon spins.
In this role, you will lead a highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary team of engineers, technicians and operators. Your responsibilities include engineering the test and assembly flow for quantum chips and ensuring the delivery of fully characterized chips into our quantum computers. You have extensive expertise in semiconductor test and assembly process engineering.
Please include a cover letter with your resume (in one file) describing how you would be a great fit at Photonic and what attributes you could bring to our growing team.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
- Manage one or more teams within the R&D Operations Group, providing both people and technical leadership, promoting a high-performance, results-driven environment
- Setting up a change control process to manage changes, ensuring proper validation and vetting of each change
- Develop and maintain robust systems for tracking, analyzing, and reporting key performance metrics, ensuring data-driven decision making
- Define and maintain test and assembly flows for chips, quantum assemblies, and quantum systems with a roadmap covering equipment, sequence, diagnostics, calibration and control aspects
- Optimize yield, test time and test coverage
- Drive failure analysis feedback loop to identify root cause failure mechanisms and implement test screens for early detection
- Manage equipment qualification, calibration and maintenance by maintaining procedures, training personnel, completing qualifications and calibrations, scheduling and executing maintenance
- Implement and enhance quality systems, including automation for MES (manufacturing execution system), SPC (statistical process control) and parametric yield data
- Develop and implement Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential failures in the process design
- Introduce process design improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability and quality
- Manage resource allocation effectively across projects and teams to drive lab utilization
- Provide cross training opportunities for team members and support internal growth
- Attract, develop, motivate, and retain top talent
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging team members to propose and implement new ides and technologies that improve system performance and reliability
- Work with stakeholders to drive alignment across multiple teams, meeting product roadmap deliverables and key technical milestones
- Work with the team to support Photonic’s Intellectual Property (IP) strategy
