Our challenge

We are looking for a highly skilled NodeJS Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with NodeJS, MongoDB, Express, and related technologies, with a focus on building efficient, scalable, and performant web applications. You will work with cutting-edge technologies to solve complex problems and create high-performance, reliable systems. Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, Nova Scotia is CAD $120k – CAD $130k / year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities :

• Develop, test, and deploy scalable, high-performance NodeJS applications.
• Work with MongoDB, Express, Mongoose, and NoSQL databases to build and maintain data-driven applications.
• Implement robust authentication, entitlements, and encryption mechanisms to secure sensitive data.
• Ensure efficient processing of complex data models and optimize performance.
• Integrate WebSockets for real-time communication and implement data streaming functionality.
• Handle system IO operations (files) and configure SMTP mailers (NodeMailer) for email communications.
• Work with enterprise message brokers and publish / subscribe systems for scalable communication.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement new features and enhancements.
• Troubleshoot and optimize application performance.
• Ensure code quality, security, and best practices are maintained.
