Job descriptionAssists the Warehouse Manager by managing and executing all activities of the warehouse in support of the overall operation; helps to promote an overall corporate image of excellence through a strong work ethic, leadership by example, and the consistent delivery of excellent customer service throughout the warehouse operation. Work at Halifax Stanfield International Airport Know and follow all company and receiving policies and standards Understand all store Loss Prevention procedures designed to minimize internal and external shrink Supervise day to day operations of all warehouse functions including ordering, receiving, shipping, return goods handling, cycle counting, inventory accuracy, equipment maintenance, and staff training Provide leadership to maintain a positive team environment Supervise and be accountable for the performance of your staff Ensure staff are following standard operating procedures and safety standards Sort and price all merchandise accurately and efficiently Adjust prices (mark ups / mark downs) as per the Warehouse Manager's instructions Write and acknowledge orders Prepare return-to-vendor merchandise accurately and on time Immediately inform management of any out of stock situations Help train new warehouse associates Organize all preparatory work for quarterly press counts and annual inventory Communicate effectively with customers, fellow employees and management Isolate, sort, and organize all damaged and outdated products for subsequent supplier credits and returns. Establish and monitor daily operational duties and priorities Follow and adhere to company policies and procedures Help maintain a neat, clean, organized warehouse including sweeping, dusting, straightening of merchandise, fixtures and displays, and performing light maintenance Other tasks as required. One year supervisor experience required. Warehouse supervisor experience preferred. Previous experience with Inventory Management Fork-lift / pallet jack experience Receiving, storing, delivering inventory experience required. Previous experience with Excel or similar database management computer system required. SAP experience preferred Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods Good organizational and time management skills Ability to lift heavy objects Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with subordinates. Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions Requires the ability to drive a truck safely. The ability to lift and / or move up to 50 lbs. Strong leadership skills; ability to delegate and coach others. Ability to read and interpret deliveries and purchases. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow job procedures and manager instructions
