About The Role The Activities Lead plans and delivers wellness programs for over 200 Independent Living and Assisted Living Residents at Shannon Oaks and Clarendon Court.
This role ensures activities foster community, meet individual needs, and promote holistic wellness.
Key Responsibilities Leadership Lead program execution with the support of two activity assistants Model organizational values and demonstrate Servant Leadership. Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members. Program Development Ability to plan, coordinate, and facilitate engaging onsite events and external outings Design and implement activity programs tailored to resident needs Reviews, assesses and adjusts activity plans regularly based on resident feedback Team Member input, observation and attendance Collaboration & Support Liaises with external professionals to book programs and events to meet Resident's needs. Collaborate with onsite chaplains, volunteer coordinators and activity assistants to support customized activities Administration Create and distribute monthly activity calendars and newsletters With the support of the Administrator, manage department budgets and track expenditures. Promote a culture of health and safety and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Professional Development Participate in relevant conferences and training to enhance your skills. Requirements An Activity Aid Certificate and / or Diploma is considered an asset or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Two years of recent related experience coordinating recreation programs for seniors Food Safe certification Current certification in Emergency First Aid (OFA Level 1) Valid Class 4 (unrestricted) driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract About You You embody a vibrant and compassionate personality, deeply committed to enhancing the lives of our residents. Your expertise extends to the observation and assessment of residents, ensuring their holistic well-being. Diligent in documentation and reporting, you maintain thorough records to drive continuous improvement. As a critical thinker and adept problem solver, you navigate complex situations with ease. Compensation & Benefits We provide a competitive compensation package with an annual salary ranging from $58,000 to $60,000.
Your comprehensive benefits include employer-paid extended health and dental coverage, along with a generous four weeks of vacation. Additionally, we provide RRSP matching contributions and support for your ongoing professional development.
