Job description

CWS logistics requires a truck transport Mechanic for our Winnipeg shop.

Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 : 30 pm with benefits and RRSP matching.

OEM Diagnostic Tools; Cummins Insite, Davies, CAT Etech , DLB , WABCO, Eaton, Bendix

Personal I pads and electronic work order system

Product Training and Education

Qualifications :

  • Safety Inspection Licence
  • Experience with Cat, Cummins and Paccar engines
  • MOPIA Licence , (not mandatory)
  • Drivers Licence 5 and or 1A
  • No existing allergy to agriculture chemicals or pesticides
  • Must be able to read, write and speak basic English
  • Must be able to do basic math calculations
  • Journeyman certificate
  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd year apprentice proven experience
  • Class 1A license an asset
  • Capable of using diagnostic tools and computer
  • Must have full set of hand tools
  • Excellent focus and attention to detail
  • Ability to work as a team and independently
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear various personal protective equipment including fall protection
  • TDG, WHMIS, Forklift and 1st Aid certification obtained

Duties;

  • Perform preventative and scheduled maintenance on tractors, trailers, tankers and chassis
  • Perform MPI (Manitoba) standard safety inspections for commercial vehicles.
  • Follow work order / repair process and documentations.
  • Inspect and test mechanical units such as engines, transmissions, axels and brake systems.
  • Adjust, repair, replace parts / components of transport truck systems including;
  • frame, cab, body, engine, drive train, air brakes, steering, fuel, hydraulic system, electrical systems.
  • Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of trailer systems including structural, brake and electrical system.
  • Comply and participate with Canada Labour Code Part II (health and safety regulations).
  • Comply to CWS policies and procedures as well as industry standards.
  • Report near misses and accidents.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by manager.
  • Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of their workstation and shop, parts-room and yard.
