Job description

MatrixHR is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our clients team in Victoria, BC. This is a full-time position, offering a dynamic work environment where your expertise in equipment diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance will be valued.

Location : Victoria, BC

Salary : $38-50 / hour (negotiable based on experience

Experience :

Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal certification required

  • 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment diagnosis, repairs, maintenance, and testing.
  • Civil construction or excavating industry experience is an asset.
  • Automotive Service experience is also an asset.

Other Requirements :

Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

  • Class 1 Driver’s License with Air Brake endorsement preferred.
  • Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English.
  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills for heavy-duty equipment.
  • Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow company policies and procedures and Occupational Health & Safety Manual.
  • Attend and participate in all mandatory staff and safety meetings.
  • Observe and promote company rules and standards.
  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Accurately document repair information for administrative purposes.
  • Prioritize safety to minimize workplace incidents and injuries.
  • Work to maximize equipment uptime through proactive maintenance and reducing downtime.
  • Promote cleanliness, respect, and proper care of all company equipment, reporting any abuse or misuse to the Head Mechanic.
