Document Control Manager

We're looking for a Document Control Manager to lead our document management efforts in a dynamic shipbuilding environment. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting large-scale projects by ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and well-managed. the day-to-day

As the Document Control Manager, you are responsible for :

  • Overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of document control processes and systems to ensure documents are properly created, stored, retrieved, and disposed of according to company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing the document control system, ensuring that project documentation is received, tracked, and monitored according to specific project requirements.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting the document control team, including onboarding activities and ongoing training for all employees on document management best practices.
  • Identify and lead system improvements and rollouts to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of document management.
  • Coordinating with various departments to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of documents and revisions, facilitating efficient project management and operational workflows.
  • Ensuring clients and other stakeholders are onboarded to the document management system and supported through the lifecycle of the project.
  • Developing and enforcing documentation policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, including ISO standards, as well as regulatory and company-specific requirements.
  • Ensuring quality control of administrative components in project and operational documentation. Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure all deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of document control processes and project outcomes.

your qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or a related field preferred
  • Certification in document control or project management preferred.
  • Proven experience in document control, preferably in a relevant industry such as shipbuilding, engineering, or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of document control procedures, industry standards, and compliance requirements, including ISO standards.
  • Experience with document management systems (DMS) and tools, with the ability to lead system rollouts and improvements.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including team management and mentoring.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience working in regulated environments or with government contracts is preferred.
  • ELIGIBILITY

    To be eligible for clearance and this position, candidates must be either Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada.
