Our challenge We are seeking a Data Analyst with a strong foundation in IT risk management and reporting to join our team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in analyzing complex data sets to provide valuable insights, facilitating informed decision-making, and enhancing our risk management practices. Additional Information The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, NS is CAD $95k – CAD $105k / year & benefits (see below). The Role Responsibilities : Develop and maintain reports and dashboards using SQL, Python, Tableau, and Excel to analyze risk-related data. Collaborate with IT risk management teams to understand their data analysis needs and deliver precise reports. Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques to identify trends or patterns in complex data sets. Work closely with management to prioritize business and information needs and provide data-driven recommendations. Ensure data integrity and accuracy in all reporting and analytics activities. Technical Skills Required : Proficiency in SQL for complex querying and data manipulation. Strong programming skills in Python for data analysis and automation tasks. Advanced proficiency in Tableau for creating intuitive and actionable dashboards. Expertise in Excel for data analysis, including the use of advanced formulas, pivot tables, and charting. Business knowledge in IT Risk Management and Reporting to understand and interpret the data correctly. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a data analysis role, preferably within IT risk management. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex findings and ideas in plain language. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings. Nice-to-Have Skills : Experience with DBT (Data Build Tool) for transforming data more effectively in our warehouse. Familiarity with Dagster for orchestrating data pipelines. Knowledge of containerization technologies to support application deployment consistency.
