Northern Gateway Public Schools invites applications for a Temporary (until end of December 2024 ) Full-time Computer Tec hnician in Whitecourt , Alberta. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Computer Technician will work with Division Office staff and the school principals to provide technology support to school staff and students. This position will be based out of NGPS division office in Whitecourt, AB. The Computer Technician will manage and maintain a helpdesk system supporting Whitecourt, and area Schools.The Computer Technician will : Provide supports for the Wide Area Network under Division Office direction Support and maintain Local Area Networks in consultation with school administration and Division Office Diagnose software and hardware problems Install new / updated software and hardware Provide in-servicing for staff relative to software and hardware use and application Create and maintain databases of software and hardware inventory and licenses Recommend upgrades to software and hardware as required and Troubleshoot and solve basic issues with wireless systems, LED TVs and computer technology including videoconferencing Computer Technician requirements / assets Excellent customer service skills Excellent troubleshooting and analytical ability Superior ability to learn new concepts and technologies and to learn about other pedagogical and managerial technological products Superior collaborative and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills CISCO IT Essentials or equivalent certification and / or experience in WAN / LAN technology support Familiar with the Google Apps ( G-Suite) Familiar with Microsoft Windows and Office The ideal candidate will have a two-year technical diploma relating to Information Technology or related work experience Salary Rate : $43,950.00 - $56,583.96 depending on qualifications and experience.
