Your Role : Design Technician reporting to our Design Manager
What You Bring :
- Read, interpret and understand blueprints and the building codes relating to residential, commercial or farm projects.
- Ability to examine drawings and blueprints for intent, conformity, and error.
- Design individual roof or floor trusses, I-joist, beam and column components, ensuring correct loading has been applied according to customer requirements, blueprints, and engineered specifications.
- Produce roof and floor takeoffs, layouts, load development and truss designs using MiTek Sapphire, Wood Works, or similar component sizing software and CAD software programs.
- Generate quotes quickly, efficiently and accurately for customers.
- The skill to deal with various customers courteously and effectively, having an exceptional customer service attitude to maintain excellent client interaction.
- Communicate with engineers, architects, and contractors regarding project details before and during construction.
- Maintain positive working relationships with co-workers.
- Demonstrated skills working in a team environment.
- Willing to learn and contribute in whatever way possible.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Attend and participate in all Company-sponsored training programs as required.
