We are excited to be expanding our technical team and we are looking for a passionate, positive and technically oriented Data Software Engineer with strong data pipeline, warehouse and ETL experience. The candidate should also have experience with GCP, Snowflake and Weaveate. This is a contract position to start with transition to full-time for a successful contract period. Job Description and General Requirements : Build and support a data warehouse to deliver project goalsProductionize R&D / Data Science Python Scripts to work for ETL pipelines Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.Support real-time debugging & feature roadmap deadlinesFamiliarity with medical records and / or medical datasets, pharmaceutical datasetsA love of veterinary medicine and helping to improve the quality of care for animals.A bachelor’s degree in computer science / engineering or equivalent 5+ years of professional software engineering experienceProgramming Languages and Frameworks : Proficiency with Python or Golang or JavaScript / TypeScript, particularly for backend development using frameworks like FastAPI.Experience in developing and maintaining ETL processes.Experience with GCP, Snowflake, WeaviateExperience with Tableau a positive Experience working with an LLMExperience in QA / QC, Evaluation Tests, Unit TestsExperience Productionizing codeBackend Technologies : Experience with API design, development, and integration.Familiarity with RESTful services and best practices for scalable backend solutions.Cloud : Strong working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Experience with Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL and deploying applications.Hands-on experience with containerization.Location, Salary & Benefits This is a contract position with transition to full time after a successful contract period. This can be either an in-office or remote, work-from-home position with the requirement for in-person meetings up to twice quarterly. Candidates that wish for an office setting either full or part time will have access to our Vancouver, BC Yaletown location, located in the heart of the city’s tech vibe.
