Position Information
Location Burnaby Salary Range
30.30 to $32.80 per hour. Salary is based on education and experience.
The Opportunity
The Job Developer is responsible for supporting participants (Youth) in understanding the local labour market and career pathways. This role involves securing informational interviews, arranging job shadowing opportunities, and negotiating employment placements. Additionally, the Job Developer assists clients with resume creation, interview preparation, job search techniques, onboarding, training, and ongoing job maintenance. A key aspect of the role is building and maintaining strong relationships with employers.
RESPONSIBILITIES : Employer Relations
- Establish and maintain relationships with employer networks.
- Attend business and industry events such as Board of Trade meetings, Chamber of Commerce gatherings, and job fairs.
- Educate and support employers with working with at-risk youth.
- Provide ongoing support to employers hosting work experience clients.
- Identify and secure suitable employers for work experience placements.
- Arrange informational interviews for participants.

WHAT IT TAKES
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED :
This full-time position (40 hours per week) will be based out of Douglas College Burnaby Training Centre, but will require regular travel throughout the Lower Mainland. Shifts may include occasional evenings and weekends.
